Abdominal Ultrasound

An abdominal ultrasound is an imaging test that uses sound waves to visualize organs within the abdomen, such as the liver, gallbladder, pancreas, and kidneys.

Preparation:

  • It is recommended not to eat or drink for 8 hours before the exam to reduce the amount of gas in the intestines and improve image quality.
  • Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing; you may be asked to wear a gown during the procedure.
  • Follow any specific instructions provided by your doctor or the imaging center.
